There Are Two Ways to Adjust When Automated Email Messages Send
1) Sequence Schedules
Custom Sequence Schedules are only available for Professional and Custom plans
Custom delivery schedules allow you to control the days and times that messages are allowed to send throughout the week.
- To create or edit a schedule outside of a sequence:
- Go to the Settings page from the left main menu
- Click on Schedules
- Click the +Add Schedule button at the top right
- Name your schedule and choose which timezone to base it on
- Choose whether to base the schedule on a given contact's local time (highly recommended)
- Choose whether or not to skip National holidays
- Click +Add New Schedule
- On the following page, add your time blocks (as many as you like) for each day of the week
- Click Save at the top right
- To change your sending schedule from within a sequence:
- Go to the Settings tab at the top of the sequence
- Under 'Schedule', select one of your (previously created) schedules from the dropdown
- Double check that the time blocks are correct
- Click Save at the top right
2) Wait Time between Steps
Each step (message) in a sequence has a "Wait for:" time. This allows you to set a cadence for steps within the sequence. For example, you can automatically send a message 3 days after the last in order to follow up with people who don't reply. Check out this doc for more info on how we calculate wait time between steps!
- To change the wait time between steps:
- Go to Sequences in the left hand main navigation
- Select the sequence whose schedule you’d like to adjust
- Click the dropdown arrow to the right end of the step whose schedule you’d like to adjust
- Select Edit
- Change the number and time increment under 'Wait for:'
- For example, 'Wait for:' [3] [days] or [5] [minutes]
- The available time increments are minutes, hours, and days
- Click Save
You've changed your sequence schedule!
