Get a Phone Number to Place, Answer, and Record Calls in Apollo
This feature is only available for Professional and Enterprise plans
Before doing anything with calling, you must set up a VoIP number for yourself, which is pulled from a pool of available lines.
- Note: Deleted phone numbers are always recycled and added back to the pool.
Get a New Phone Number
1. Navigate to Settings > You > Voice
2. Click '+ Get Phone Number'
3. Enter the area code of the phone number you want to use and click 'Search'
- Note: You can only request five new phone numbers per month, and we currently only support calling to/from domestic (U.S.) phone numbers.
- If you are requesting an international phone number (this is an additional add-on, contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like it), you need to use the ISO Alpha-2 code to get it (ie a phone number from England you would use "GB")
4. Select a number from the list, click 'Choose', and you'll be set to place calls through it. The number you choose from the list will be tied directly to your Apollo account.
- Note: For apps that have the feature enabled, there is also a setting for 'Use a local phone number by default' underneath 'Apollo Phone Number', and this feature is detailed in full here.
Enable Call Recording
This will record all calls made in Apollo.
You can bridge calls to consolidate phone communication to your mobile device, all while retaining the ability to log and record them in Apollo. This will require you to enter your personal phone number in the 'Outgoing Call Bridge Phone Number' and 'Incoming Call Bridge Phone Number' fields.
- For incoming calls, contacts will have to call your Apollo number in order for the call to be bridged to your phone. Any voicemails would then be left on your personal phone, assuming that phone number has a voice mailbox set up.
- For outgoing calls, you will receive a call on your phone (from your Apollo number) that prompts you to complete the bridge by interacting with your dialer. This will then send the given contact a phone call from your Apollo number (we'll never send the call from your actual phone number).
VoIP allows you to place or receive calls (from your chosen Apollo number) in your browser. This offers the same click to call and call recording functionality as bridging. But unlike bridging, there isn't a voicemail feature because the phone numbers we offer do not have voice mailboxes. If you want the ability to record voicemails, you'd need to switch your inbound calls to bridging.
Answer (Incoming) Calls With VoIP
When someone calls the number you've created in Settings > You > Voice, your browser will show the following modal -
Then, after you answer and complete the call, we'll show you this modal -
If call recording is enabled, however, then you'll also have the option to download the audio file of your call by clicking the three vertical dots next to it. Please note that this is currently only available in Google Chrome -
If you don't answer the call, we'll show you the same modal as above (but without the call recording attached) once the call ends. From there, you'll be able to see the log of the call in your Calls page. Below are examples of both answered and unanswered call logs -

To call a contact through your browser, you will need to click the phone number attached to their profile -
