Apollo Makes Sure you Aren't Messaging Contacts While They're Out of Office

When you have a contact in a sequence that receives a message while they are out of the office, and they have an out of office auto responder set up, we will try and detect this and pause that contact in the sequence. You can tell when someone is paused in a sequence for this reason by hovering over the "Paused" status:

• Note that our detection algorithms can currently only detect auto responders that send the entire message in English.

In addition to this, if a return date is stated in the auto response, we will try and detect this as well, and we will un-pause the contact in the sequence on that date:

If, however, we cannot detect a return date in the reply, either because there wasn't one or because it was formatted in such a way to not be detected, you will need to manually resume these contacts in the sequence.

Lastly, if you do have an example of an auto-response that we do not detect (and the whole thing, both subject and body, is in English), then please send an email with this information to support@apollo.io and we can pass this information along to improve our detection algorithms 😄
