If your Apollo App is integrated with Salesforce, we "pull" email addresses from SFDC Leads/Contacts to Apollo to update the relevant Contact in Apollo whenever you change them in SFDC. Depending on your configuration, we can also "push" updated email addresses from Apollo to update the email of the relevant Lead/Contact in SFDC. That begs the question, which email address, the one on the Apollo Contact profile or the one on the SFDC Lead/Contact profile, will overwrite the other when they differ?
If You Manually Update a Contact's Email Address in Apollo OR SFDC, We Will Always Update the Corresponding Record In the Other System IF It Exists Or Is Created At the Time of The Update
Salesforce-to-Apollo Updates
As soon as you Integrate with Salesforce, you're automatically set to update the details of Contacts in Apollo that match the email addresses of Leads/Contacts in SFDC. This includes automatically updating the email of Contacts in Apollo when you change the email of the corresponding Lead/Contact in SFDC.
To ensure you don't prospect SFDC Leads/Contacts you already have, we pull Leads/Contacts from SFDC to your Apollo App's Prospect Searcher Page (under "In CRM") by default as they're created, but you can choose whether or not to also view and manage these Salesforce Leads/Contacts as Contacts in Apollo. It's highly recommended that you do, so that you stay fully up-to-date in both systems as you contact and/or update them in either:
Apollo to Salesforce Updates
You have more granular control over whether to create a Lead/Contact in SFDC as you create new Contacts in Apollo (you can turn it on or off completely or select specific Contact Stages in Apollo to initiate creating a Lead/Contact in SFDC):
However, updating corresponding SFDC Leads/Contacts when changes are made to Contacts in Apollo is on by default and cannot be turned off. Therefore, updating a Contact email in Apollo will update the Lead/Contact email in SFDC, as long as that Lead/Contact already exists in SFDC.
If you create a Contact in Apollo that is NOT pushed to SFDC (and therefore there's no SFDC Lead/Contact for that person), and later create a Lead/Contact for that person in SFDC, we will override the Apollo Contact email with the new email you used to create the SFDC Lead/Contact.
