Your Contacts' Email and Call Triggers are the most basic and essential automations in the Apollo App, because they allow you to email lots of people while not emailing the wrong people. For example, you wouldn't want to automatically follow up with a lead you'd already scheduled a meeting with, as a result of your outbound sequence. Nor would you want to email someone who unsubscribed (yikes)!
These Email and Call Triggers allow you to easily automate keeping track of your relationship with each individual contact.
Guide to Setting Up Email Triggers
Navigate to Settings > Contacts > scroll down to Triggers > in the Email Triggers section

Each trigger is mapped to a specific action, and you want only one outcome from an isolated action, like contact clicks the opt-out link » mark the contact "unsubscribed."
Appointment Set trigger is helpful in:
a. Marking a contact as "Interested" so you can track your conversion from cold to "demo'd" / SQL
b. And, record reportable success on your sequence's template that led to this appointment, so you can use your email stats and reporting to continually improve your messaging.
Unresponsive after the last step of the campaign is sent automatically marks contacts as the contact stage "Unresponsive" so you can easily see at a glance which contacts you can re-engage in the main Contact page.
Prospect Replied triggers automatically marks Contacts as the contact stage "Replied" Contact Stage and see whom you've engaged in your sales process.
Prospect Unsubscribed trigger automatically marks the Contact as "Do Not Contact" Contact Stage so you are not emailing Contacts who've chosen to not be emailed or called again (very important to track this into your CRM as well, so you can keep track of these for the future).
Email Bounced trigger automatically marks the Contact as the Contact Stage "Bad Data" so you know to not email that same contact again, or you can request a new email for this contact.
Email Delivered trigger automatically marks the Contact as the Contact Stage "Approaching" as you want to see easily see the difference between Cold stage Contacts and Contacts that have been emailed / touched. With this, you can glance at your Contacts page in your sequence and see if any contacts are still Cold stage and why, so you know you're emailing all of your leads, and not leave any opportunities on the table.
