Keep Track of the Emails that Led to Contacts Being Interested
When a contact engages with you and becomes interested in your product/service, you'll want to know which email prompted them to reach this state.
Manually Marking an Email as Interested
In order to mark an email as "Interested" you will need to view the email either on the contact's profile or from your Outbox, and then choose "Mark Interested":
Note: Once you've marked an email as interested you cannot mark it as not interested.
When you mark an email as interested the contact stage of the contact will be changed to Interested by default, unless you've changed the Trigger for this or if you've changed the Contact Stages from their defaults. Note though that marking an email as interested does cause the contact to move into the Interested contact stage, but they are not interchangeable concepts. Moving a contact into the Interested stage does not necessarily mean that one of the emails to that contact was marked as interested.
What Type of Emails Can I Mark as Interested?
Only emails that are sent within Apollo or from the Apollo extension can be marked as interested. These include:
- Sequence Automatic Emails
- Sequence Manual Emails
- Manual Emails
- Manual Emails Sent from Apollo Chrome Extension - Tracked
- Manual Emails Sent from Apollo Chrome Extension - Not Tracked

If the email was sent from Apollo or the Apollo extension, you can mark it as interested by navigating to the Contact > Contact Activities > locate the email > click its [...] button > Mark Interested:
On the contrary, if the email was sent outside of Apollo, there won't be an option to mark it as interested:
Emails that get Marked as Interested Automatically
Emails will be automatically marked as interested if the contact receives a Google Calendar invite or schedules an Outlook meeting with a user in your app. If they do, the most recent email before the accepted invite will be marked as interested. For Apollo to detect that the contact has accepted an invite or meeting, two requirements must be met:
- Your Google Calendar or Outlook account must be tied to an email that is connected as an Apollo mailbox
- The invitee must have the same email as a contact stored in your app
