It is not possible to restart a contact in a sequence, but there are some workarounds.
Once a contact moves past the first step of a sequence, there's no direct method to have them placed back at the beginning. When added back into a sequence, they will always be placed back at the step they were in when removed or marked as finished prior to reaching the final step. More on that here.
In order to work around this, there are two alternatives that can be utilized:
1. Clone the Sequence
Since the cloned sequence is technically a brand new sequence, this is one way to have contacts restart that sequence cycle. Clones can be made either from the Sequence list or from within the individual sequence.
From the list:
From the sequence:
Once the clone is made, add the contacts into the clone. Be sure to activate the sequence steps and master switch of the sequence!
2. Perform the initial sequence step(s) manually, then resume the contact in the sequence.
If the first step (or steps) in the sequence that the contact already moved past is an email, you can copy the content from the email template and then send it as a manual one off email from your mail client, or through the Apollo app. To do this, just click the email address on the contact record, like so:
Or if the initial step(s) is a phone call, just click the phone number on the contact record to reach out. Then once those manual steps are complete, resume the contact(s) in the sequence so they can move through the remaining steps.
