Add Custom Field Cards to Your Contact and Account Layouts to Easily View and Edit Custom Data That Is Used in Emails
In addition to the default cards that are available in all contact profile layouts (Technologies, Job Postings, Funding Rounds, and Score Breakdown), you can also set up cards that are based on any of the custom fields you've configured in Apollo (more on custom fields here).
Creating Custom Field Cards
To add custom field cards to your layout (detailed here), first ensure you've selected the right layout by clicking the drop down highlighted below:
Next, click the Edit button to the left of the contact's initials (DT). This will open the layout editor, from which you can access the Custom Fields Cards section (shown in the GIF below). To create a card with custom fields, click the Create Custom Field Card placeholder:
This will then open up the card editor (shown in the GIF below), which is not available in the Default Cards section.
The editor will have all of your apps' 'Available (custom) Fields' listed on the left-hand side, and you can click any field to add it to your 'Card Content' section.
- Note: If you don't see the custom field that you want, follow these directions to create it.
Once a field is listed under the 'Card Content' section, you can move it up or down the list by clicking and dragging it, and can remove it by clicking it again.
Once saved, your chosen fields will become available as a card (in the exact order you've set). New cards will always save to the far right of your Custom Field Cards list:
Note: You can add as many fields as you like, but the more fields you add, the bigger (and more cumbersome) your card will be. Best practice is to create cards with fields that you'll be filling out or using at the same time in your day-to-day workflow.
Adding Custom Field Cards to Your Layout
To add a new or existing card to your layout, find it in the Custom Fields Cards list and click + Add to board. Once added, the card can be moved and resized however you see fit.
Edit the Custom Field Values in Your Cards
To add, remove, or modify values in a custom field contact card, click the Edit button to its top right:
This will then unlock the fields so that you can add/remove whatever values you like. Once finished, be sure to click Save:
Edit Which Custom Fields Appear in Your Cards
To edit the custom fields of a card that is already added to your layout, you will need to click the Settings cog button at the top right of the card:
This will then open the card editor:
To edit the custom fields of a card that isn't currently added to your layout, click the Edit button to the left of your contact's name and then select Edit layout:
From here, click the Custom Field Cards tab in your layout editor, find the card you want to edit, hover over it, and then click Edit Card:
