Apollo Uses Either Your Personal SFDC Account or Your App's Sync Credentials as the Record Creator Depending on How the Contact Was Created
If you haven't already, read our documentation on syncing data to Salesforce using your personal SFDC account versus syncing data using your app's sync credentials.
Generally speaking, if you have connected your personal SFDC account in your Salesforce integration settings, Apollo will always use your user-specific SFDC account to sync account/contact ownership and logs (ie. emails, tasks, action items) to Salesforce. However, the logic is different when it comes to syncing the contact creator in Salesforce.
Depending on how you created the contact, here is how Apollo determines which user account to sync as the record creator in Salesforce:
|Contact manually created in Apollo||Contact created from Apollo's Chrome extension in LinkedIn|
|Contact created from a CSV upload||Contact created from lead request in Apollo's Prospect Searcher/Customer Profiles|
|Contact created from Apollo's Chrome extension||Contact created from Apollo's job change trigger|
- If you have not connected your personal Salesforce account to Apollo, any contacts you create will default to your app's sync credentials as the record creator in Salesforce.
- Any contacts/leads created in your Salesforce instance will use your Salesforce user account as the record creator.
