Flag Incorrect Data to Help Improve the Quality of Apollo's Lead and Company Database
While our job change trigger (found in the Triggers page) and enrichment features automatically catch new information about contacts and accounts, they don't always reflect data that is changed in real-time. This means you may occasionally run into information we haven’t had a chance to update, but that's exactly what the data flag is for. With it, you can easily let us know when the information we provide in a data request needs to be reviewed, and also gives you a way to let us know what it should be (if you already know).
- Note: Data flagging is app-specific. Records you flag will not be shown to other Apollo apps.
Flagging Data
To flag a contact or account's data, go to their profile and then click the Flag button at the top right:
Contacts
Clicking a contact-based flag will bring up the following modal, where you can tell us which data is out-of-date, as well as (optionally) tell us what the up-to-date value(s) should be:
Accounts
Clicking an account-based flag brings up the same modal, but it will offer different fields for flagging:
We can serve email, title, phone number, company, and some standard fields (location, company enrichment information) in lead requests, so the modal allows you to flag all of these. The same thing goes for the name, domain, and standard fields that we can provide in company requests.
- Note: If you flag 'Other' then you will be required to specify what information is wrong.
Can I Flag Any Data That I Want?
No. If the contact or account has incorrect information, but wasn't requested from Apollo, then you will not be able to flag these records. Instead, the flag will be grayed out and you will see the following message:
To check whether your contact or account came from Apollo, open its Activities tab and then scroll down to the very first activity item. This will always indicate the creation source of the record:
