Updates to a Contact in Apollo Will Not Cause It to Be Re-Created in HubSpot
Generally speaking, we will sync contact updates from Apollo to HubSpot, but will never sync record deletion (in either direction). If you delete a synced contact in one platform, you'd need to manually delete the corresponding contact in the other.
Furthermore, if a contact is deleted in HubSpot and still exists in Apollo, any updates you make to the contact in Apollo will not push or re-create that contact in HubSpot. This includes when you click Push All Apollo Contacts to HubSpot Contacts (found in Settings > Integrations > HubSpot > Basics), as that function only affects newly created contacts that have yet to sync with HubSpot.
A workaround for this is to create a duplicate record of the contact in Apollo (so we can push it as a new contact to HubSpot), and then merge the two contact records in Apollo (so we can sync future updates to the new contact created in HubSpot). These steps are both further detailed below.
- Important Notes: This workaround will not retroactively sync any contact activities before the records are merged.
1) Create a Duplicate Record of This Contact in Apollo
To manually create a contact, navigate to Contacts, select + Add Contact and then click Just One Contact:
Important Note: Be sure to include the same email address so we can detect the record as a duplicate
2) Merge both contact records in Apollo
After the duplicate contact is created, navigate to its profile in Apollo and then select Click here to merge the duplicate contact:
