Make Any Apollo Account the Parent of Another
When companies are acquired, or when they have different subsidiaries, you may want to use parent/child relationships to keep things organized in Apollo and/or Salesforce.
To set an Apollo account as the parent of another, first find the account that you want to be the "child" (also known as a sub-account). On that account's profile, you will see a lookup field called "Parent Account" (shown below). While editing this field, search for the account that you would like to set as its parent and then click Save:
Note:
- You can only set existing accounts as parents. If you do not see the account that you would like to set as a parent, then you will need to first create or add that account in Apollo.
- You can set the same parent for as many different accounts as you like.
- If you are connected to Salesforce, we will automatically sync parent accounts between Apollo and your CRM (no configuration needed).
Searching for Accounts by Parent
If you have the same "parent" for multiple different accounts, then you can find them in Apollo (the "child" accounts) by searching for their mutual parent. To do so, go to the Accounts page in Apollo, open the Parent Account filter, and then search for the parent account in question (shown below). This will return a list of any child accounts that are under the parent(s) you searched for:
Note on this example: Another account, named "Amazon Jobs", also had Amazon set as its parent account. That is why it appears in this list.
